Re: Transit Crime
I was excited to visit Minneapolis this last weekend for a wedding after being away for around 3 years. I was hoping that a lot of what I had seen in the Strib was sensationalized relative to the light rail and its decreasing quality. Taking the train twice on the trip- 1. Blue Line, MSP to Franklin...

I don't know if anyone has seen this yet, but there is a Tiktok going around of a guy driving his car to where there is a shot spotter cam, getting out, and shooting into the air to set it off, getting back in his car and driving away. It was captured by someone's front door cam. Curious if this inc...

It obviously completely varies by job, but my lack of a large format printer (24x36 and 30x42) in my house has been one of my top hinderances. Also layout space for giant drawings. Working at the same dining room table as three other people and all taking calls doesn't help either. I really want to ...

Buildings like this are great because not everyone who lives in an apartment wants to be above loud commercial streets.

Does anyone know what kind of sound proofing/insulation is used? Just wondering about hearing one's neighbors. Also - looks shorter than normal construction... Residential construction has a required STC rating of 50 between units, regardless of the construction method. Usually, that looks like bat...

I read an article about the construction of the subway in LA being sped up because coronavirus was making it easier to close roads full stop and get things done.

I do have couple of small items to share. Ryan is placing their job site office trailer on the east side, directly south of Lunds. Excellent visibility of the site there. Access will be next to the employee parking lot behind their store. They open at 6:00, city has a noise ordinance thru 7:00. No ...

Some of this building is listed at $2.75-$3.30 a sf instead of $2.25-$2.50 that we are used to seeing... Let alone that some the units are insanely configured. I think this will struggle to fill and honestly worries me about the commercial space prices as well. For example, The Girard wastes a ton o...

Re: Minneapolis Population Growth - Onward to 500k!
Originally hailing from Columbus myself it's pretty insane to even consider a downtown population of 50k in a mid-size Midwestern city. Columbus is a city of 900k which is struggling to attain a downtown population of 10k as of this year. Proposals for any residential building 20 stories or taller ...

Re: Zoning in Minneapolis
Reading between the lines, "The metro is absorbing new units at the strongest pace since 2010." - Are we thinking this is going to signal to 2019 being a great population growth year for the cities? Inclusionary zoning's biggest irk to me is that I wouldn't consider the prices of the "...

THISHaving a split platform isn't ideal, but it's less dumb than, say, the two separate platforms at Target Field that every train stops at both of.

The building itself is pretty attractive. And high five for quality materials. I have a sample of that exact black brick sitting on my desk. Very pricey. Great choice.

The ARTery will honestly help establish the Hopkins Station as easily one of the best on the line and will make the walk from the station to the downtown seem extremely easy and pleasant. Very impressed with it.
