Re: North Loop Neighborhood
I hope they save the hottea installation on the fenced garage door. :D https://goo.gl/maps/gpbcg Here's a property that was mentioned a few years ago for redevelopment, but nothing ever moved forward. Now they're seeking cleanup grants: North Loop Commons (620 Olson Memorial Highway) Projected DEED ...

Ha! That's sort of awesome, though, in a 1970s sci-fi movie way!

Re: 602 Condominiums - (602 1st St N)
I agree Grant - The most expensive units in 602 were in the $1,000 per square-foot range, and I just don't think the demand or amenities were there to support that. Sure, it's a new building and all, but it just seemed reeeeally optimistic.

Seems like a good thing for that spot, though.

Re: 602 Condominiums - (602 1st St N)
If you search the real estate sites (I usually use Coldwell Banker Burnett), you can see they have about 7 units listed on the MLS. Prices on those range from $780,000 to $3,300,000.

Re: 729 Washington Av N
Is that still the case today? You'd think the new owner, Goldman Sachs (since ~2/2014), might want to make money off of it, considering the astronomical price they paid for the Tractorworks Building and that ramp. It is true that the TractorWorks ramp is closed on evenings and weekends. I think the...

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Agreed! The lack of lights/crosswalks between N 6th and N 10th makes walking across Washington a bit of an adventure.Planted medians, or at least mid-block pedestrian islands and crosswalks should be placed all along Washington Avenue - in the North Loop and through the downtown area...

Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)
I used to work on the top floors of the taller International Centre/Oracle Centre building - the elevators go to the 18th floor, but there is also a 19th floor that is only accessible from 18 via a small personal elevator and a staircase. Perhaps this will be similar.

Re: 66th Street - Richfield
Previous to today, I hadn't gotten around to looking at which homes were going away. Now I see that it's the entire south side of 66th. I've always wondered what the story was behind this one with the Bavarian style. I see now that it was built in 1975, meaning that "charm" is likely tack...

[quote="Yourpalborno Unfortunately for Milwaukee the hotel did not spur any other development. It is still surrounded by empty brownfields and storage warehouses. I don’t expect the same for the North Loop hotel.[/quote] Ah... I was wondering about this, because I was looking at the google aeri...

Re: The Eclipse
Gah - I wrote something and the site crashed during my post... Yes, she was probably concerned with commission and getting me to buy, but I don't know that they're concerned about Eclipse being a competitor to Stonebridge - Eclipse wouldn't have a move-in ready unit for at least a few years, right? ...

Re: The Eclipse
I toured a few units at Stonebridge yesterday afternoon, and asked the person in the leasing office about the status of Eclipse. Her quick and confident response was that he's not going to build it. To paraphrase some of the things she said: it's too big and would take too long to build (he likes to...

We did similar research on our first house, and I think we did all the things you did (found the original building permit, went to the Northwest Architectural Archives, the Hennepin Hist Museum, and also a strange room up in the attics of the Mpls City Hall where they had old aerials of the neighbor...

Heidi's has closed early and unexpectedly... due to divorce. My favorite comment on the City Pages' facebook post: "they have a press agent?"
