Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
Why is it that with all the space available between the Bryn Mawr Station and just west of I-94 they insisted on having the light rail tracks right next to the BNSF tracks? Seems like they could've saved some money and headache having the light rail tracks further away from the freight tracks in th...

The FAA site shows that they got their crane(?)/building height(?) permits recently. One has a work schedule of 04/01/2021 to 10/30/2023 and the other is 10/19/2020 to 11/08/2022.

The North Loop has a pharmacy in the TractorWorks building, unless you mean something more substantial that's connected to retail ala CVS or Target.

I'm glad it's gone. the heavy stream of out-of-towners that frequent the restaurants in that area deserve something that demonstrates the strength of our food scene. I hope Newsroom is next. I haven't dined there in a long time, and it was always for business functions where I wasn't the one paying...

Not that I'm religiously checking every day to see if permits have been pulled or anything, but the previously existing parcels, 240 Hennepin and 258 Hennepin, have disappeared from the city's property info tool and been replaced by a newly combined 250 Hennepin parcel. No permits are showing up ye...

New Bohemia says the lease was up and they decided to close that location. I haven't found any news or info on a replacement for the space though.

Well note, though, that the renderings say metal *or precast.* Which isn't necessarily an improvement...but is maybe cheaper? Unless we're talking about metal elsewhere on the building.

The existing contributing portion of the 121 N 1st Street building will be stabilized structurally, and moved off site temporarily to accommodate subterranean construction work for underground parking within the site. The client intends to use Jepson Inc. to stabilize and move the structure. Once s...

A nice alteration to this would be an offshoot from the existing walk/bike bridge that connects down to 3rd Ave.There is a 3rd Street walk/bike bridge attached to the viaduct.

I wish the StarTrib would have added a little analysis or reporting to the story on the loss of parking excuse. For Lee’s to close and blame a loss of parking before that loss even happened is lame. At least wait until the change is reality and then assess if it’s affecting the business.

I love when people use the word "pristine" to describe an area they want to protect from development. It's a "pristine" paved bike trail ffs.

Did the food hall ever get approved? and timeline for it? Do you mean Graze on the Bookmen site? I believe it was approved. It's been pretty quiet though... They were supposed to start construction early this past summer I think, but I'm hoping it's just an issue of logistics and planning have been...

*masonry expert* you just need to use a brick that is available in a thin veneer. So, not to belabor this point, but I was looking at the new Variant project, also in the North Loop, and it appears to be six stories of real brick over stick frame construction. Variant is absolutely real brick. I wa...
