Re: 520 2nd St. SE
Also, Does anyone know what 'Low Income' is for renting units like this? I might be just impoverished enough to live somewhere like that ;D

Re: Mill & Main
I like that Mill and Main is a little low. It makes really great potential for things on the south and north side of 2nd to develop, with potential height and great views. I mean the river front is really great, but if things get to be really successful, 2nd could turn into a great neighborhood, may...

Re: 350 North Fifth Street
I like the look of it and think it's great for that spot. My only question is how reflective this will be and is it going to be positioned in a way that it will cause glare for the fans and/or players in the stadium as the sun sets? Hopefully the windows will have that automatic tilt so that they c...

Re: The Edge on Oak
Na, I like the tofu house being there, and the red thing too.
I just think if the darker tan color had been charcoal or black, it would have made a dramatic difference in the massing of the building.

Re: 350 North Fifth Street
I have been excited for something to break the mold in the North Loop. I mean the Twin's Stadium isn't exactly red brick either. Many of the great cities I've seen have their blend of traditional and contemporary. Nothing is cooler than Some cool slick glass tucked right into the history of brick an...

Re: Vikings Stadium
Students on the East bank have the River and i35W to contend with (virtual walls). If they want to get something they would rather drive than make that trek. But with the Green Line going through East it could be very different. Especially if there are any number of activity things around the stadiu...

Re: Neiman Marcus Closing DT Location
It's unfortunate that we have a lag in retail success when we are about to get so many more DT residents. If only we could fast forward 3-5 years. There is a chance we'll have a whole generation of people willing to shed their cars and really create and utilize self sufficient urban areas. But I gue...

Re: Central Corridor LRT
The whole Granary Corridor has a study including different amounts of parkway and greenway. a really interesting project. There are site plans and proposals on this page.

Re: Cedar and Franklin redesign idea
Well, I'm sold. Really great idea to simplify the area and restore a bit of the grid. I can't say anything of the feasibility, but I like.

Oh dear. And primarily because they selected awful colors. It would have been avoided so easily.

Re: IDS Center
Unfortunately I don't think the big 3 were turning their lights out (originally) as much to save on their energy bill as in response to people's complaints of light pollution.

Re: Dock Street Apartments
Maybe for the second building that seems to be over the Northstar they are hoping for a little public/private partnership in creating some of the transit station in their building, or the entrance or something?

Re: Minneapolis - St. Paul Business News
I think this is pretty good news, as a region we're a bit stagnant, but in the past few years we've moved up from ranking in the 50's to 22. Maybe just based on other cities' misfortune, but if we look good that gives us a better hand for future growth? http://www.forbes.com/places/mn/minneapolis-st...

Re: Vikings Stadium
Best Buy, Apple, Gamestop, IKEA...
But I also think it's more likely for students to live farther from campus... Elliot Park and ride over there. Some affordable housing, not necessarily student oriented but not subsidized either would be nice.
