Re: Northeast and Southeast Minneapolis - General Topics
Just got a notice that the Wells Fargo on E Hennepin is closing in August. Anything cooking at that site? Seems like a great location to do something similar to Rafter.

Re: O2 - Washington/Portland Mixed Use - 22 stories - 247'
There was a lot of equipment on site yesterday and it didn't seem to be related to the fire station work. I'm thinking this will be breaking ground very soon.

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
That's a really unflattering rendering of that 2nd street project. There's no way it'll end up looking that gloomy in real life. They managed to make it look abandoned on a cloudy mid-winter day, despite the blue skies behind it in the rendering. The shots of the exterior materials in the packet loo...

So, uh, looks like a pretty large chunk of the neighboring auto repair place collapsed into the construction site recently. There's about a car sized hole in the wall next door.

I just saw Sundial on facebook- looks real good! It's from a Detroit based firm that is working on small-scale missing-middle type housing. https://fabrick-design.com/ https://i.imgur.com/El5Z6hd.png https://i.imgur.com/D6z21Wy.png https://i.imgur.com/zKxv8Ef.png Fencing going up on this site. 33rd and Nicollet has started construction while I wasn't paying attention. Good number of mid-size buildings going up south of the Kmart.

Big one proposed for Opus Station:

With all the housing going in here, if they're not careful, they could end up with a real neighborhood on their hands!

They've started digging the hole for this one. Kind of quietly, a lot of buildings are going up around here.

Has the Rockler Fur renovation started yet? That would fit the general area and would probably involve a lot of that type of work.

Re: 2383 University Ave- 6 Stories, 220 units
US Bank at Raymond & University is closing and being sold for redevelopment along with the adjacent parcel to the east. Rumor is 'student housing' whatever that means. Big piece of land with the parking lots. Hopefully something with a good street front in this very walkable district. https://i...

New Horizon on 25th(?) and Hennepin has one too. There's a couple downtown (FAIR School at 10th/Hennepin, the office tower at Nicollet/6th), but I'm not aware of any in other parts of the city.

Re: Karmel Square 2020
Good lord, that's huge! Karmel is going to need its own zip code soon. Likely to be some issues to hash out on this, but overall a big boon to the neighborhood to replace an emptied out Walgreens with shops, offices, and residents. I also like that it's got a little bit of distinctiveness, even if i...

Plans for the US Bank site are available at on the Edina Development Tracker site (which is pretty nice). It looks pretty good and is certainly an improvement over what's there currently: https://utility.arcgis.com/usrsvcs/servers/34c1bbf08470457aa6398ab6147c15f3/rest/services/Planning/Development_T...

Love that dashboard and love the Sundial plan. I would take 100 more of those around town in a heartbeat. That could fit in on any residential block in this city.

A ton of trees have been cut down and cleared out on the north side of the site. I have no idea if it's for light rail construction or not, but it's where the first phase would go, so here's hoping.

Re: Thrivent Headquarters Block - 6th St and Portland Ave
The height is one thing, but I'm probably more annoyed by the car court (or whatever) between the office and apartment buildings that could fit a whole other building in there.

Looks like something could finally be going into the building at 3025 Lyndale, which has been vacant for......10? years.
