Re: Saints Lowertown Ballpark
Dollar signs with lots of zeros behind them have a tendancy to cloud judgement a bit. I'm sure more will come out in the law suit that might shed some more light to the situation.

Re: Wayzata & Texas development - St. Louis Park
I could see these sights developed into some smaller office condo developments. They're not terribly large sites, but if you included some of the older office buildings or housing around them I could maybe see an apartment development. I used to live in an apartment complex on the other side of Loui...

Re: Saints Lowertown Ballpark
I'm guessing not. It seems that the city is confident that they're safe on this, but MN Management & Budget seems pretty outraged over the way things were handled. What are the reprocussions if the city is found to have acted improperly? Does the project just go out for bid? I can't imagine this...

Re: Saints Lowertown Ballpark
I'm surprised nobody has brought up the controvery surrounding this project. I'm curious to know what some of the people on this board think about the city pre-arranging their deal with Ryan to manage this project without going out to bid. It seems to me that they overstepped their bounds by not put...

Didn't they gut this building a year or two ago with the intent of turning it into apartments?

Ist building is topped out now, 2nd building looks to be on the 3rd floor? The bones are starting to go up on the 3rd building too. Sorry I didn't take any pics, I was driving and didn't have time to pull over.

Re: 222 & Whole Foods - (222 Hennepin Avenue)
My understanding is that a good number of the buildings that had been in the gateway area were sooo delapidated that they were not only an eyesore, but a hazard. They were flop houses for crying out loud, not palaces. There are a lot of people that follow this site that get really upset when old bui...

Re: Westminster Church
When Presbyterian Homes bought it in '05 the plan was for a senior highrise, the more recent stories on this are pretty vague; however, it did say that they were talking with James Dayton about a "vision" for the sight.

Re: Shakopee Rail?
So in winter months you'd have 3 people riding this thing? The driver, the security officer, and the person who mistakenly thought it was the central corridor LRT.

U of M tuition
Should the state give the U $1.1 billion dollars in order to freeze tuition for 2 years? Where oh where do I begin? I understand that tuition has gone up dramatically over the last decade or so, but, as I recall, going to college is a privilege not a right. Second of all; maybe the U should stop the...

Re: Block E
First you have the Conservatory, Riverplace, City Center, Gavidae, and now Block E. To say they city was short sited on this is quite the understatement. How the design for block E ever got approved in the first place is beyond comprehension, the traffic flow and access to tennant spaces was soooooo...

yawn....how much infusion of public money will it take for dt st paul to be "revitalized". how does macy's stay in business there? St Paul has been in revitalizing mode for 50 years. As for Macy's staying open, most people think it will close next year. The only reason it's open now is be...

Yes, it has a clinic too. Maybe they're remodeling these areas? Seems odd though.Indeed it does, on the second floor. Maybe they're adding a clinic, or does it already have one of those too?doesn't the downtown target already have a pharmacy?

Re: 330 South 12th
The church only uses one small portion of their building and, I'm guessing, wouldn't mind unloading the property for the right price. The hotel has been quoted before as saying they don't want to give up their property because it is very profitable and they have a leg up on everyone else with the pr...

I'd be kind of disappointed if it was only 50 feet taller than the Ivy. Seems to me it might be a little taller if there are that many rooms, but then again they'd be paying the construction costs not me...

Re: 330 South 12th
Back on Minnescraper I remember someone mentioning that the current building is pretty run down on the inside and needs a LOT of updating, more than what is feasible. Once you start the kind of updating that is needed you need to bring things up to code and it sounded like that may not be possible a...
