Re: Hiawatha-Minnehaha Development & RR Corridor/MinHi Line
But is it site activity, or spillover from the sewer work going on the Hiawatha bridge?

Re: MPS Comprehensive District Design
Interesting, no more community K-8s. The K-8s in my area (Lake Nokomis, Folwell, Field/Hale) going to K-5 may be in improvement, smaller area focus hopefully means smaller school population. It also looks like it will be easier to close schools in the future, if all the adjacent schools have the sam...

Re: MPS Comprehensive District Design
North is already empty because everyone now open enrolls to Hopkins or Minnetonka. Perhaps the thinking is "maybe if our attendance area looks more well-off, the local families will treat the local school with more respect and work to improve it." I think any Kenwood family that can afford...

"Open" means open to cars. Doesn't need to be a freeway, but there should be an allowance for autos, else why are we spending tax dollars on it.

Re: MPS Comprehensive District Design
Me personally, I don't have a big problem. We live two blocks from Roosevelt, so kids are going to go there, and we're not affected by the elementary school program shifts. Overall, I don't know how MPS expects to get those Kenwood and Uptown(not Uptown) families to North every day, relying on Metro...

MPS Comprehensive District Design
This is a topic for the oft-discussed (by us older kid-having folk) topic of the Minneapolis School District Comprehensive District Design. Here's a Southwest Journal introduction (with focus on Southwest High School changes, of course, mostly in relation to North High School). https://www.southwest...

I'm interested in the proposal to ban the parking of commercial trucks overnight on city streets (or is it just residential neighborhoods?)

Re: Downtown Riverfront - Mill Ruins Park - Waterworks
I like it. Especially if there are fishing platforms. Always feel like I'm going to get run over fishing off the SAB. Or I'm going to cast into some hipster's kombucha. Mostly kidding. I'd love having a loop for walking, but I was hoping for the #9 bridge to be connected for that loop. But this'll do.

Re: East 38th Street & 38th St Station Development
No, the sunset side is the best. And no complaints when/if something goes up on the ADA Medical block. Not sure why I think so, but seems like the "cut out" with the dog walk should face the back instead of Hiawatha.

Re: Mall of America Transit Station
I believe that the station is in a good place where it is, relatively, and a second station can be added on the American Boulevard side of any MOA2 expansion, starting an expansion west to close the Southwest triangle.

While its nice to see the old retaining wall stones back, they look completely out of place. They used to be "fitted" together, now they just look plopped down.

Re: Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board
I had the opportunity to car pool with Adam Arvidson for a long drive to the North Shore (we chaperoned the 5th Grade camping trip). He's the Director of Planning Services with MPRB, and we got to talking about some of the recent projects. He explained a more recent (within the last decade) shift in...

I wish there was more setback along Nicollet, it looks like it will be boxing in Cancer Survivors "Park", when it really should be opening up to it and a future path to the river.

Re: Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board
Looking at all the diagrams, where is it forcing people off? The Y split near Portland can change to favor continuing west onto 50th, no problem, if that's what the traffic demands. The ramps up to Lyndale hitting right turn only medians, fine, should have been there already. Is that really all? I c...
