Re: Amtrak Empire Builder and Intercity Rail to Chicago
Why does it cost so much money to study a second train that will run on existing tracks? "Rail planners need $4 million in capital funds to conduct an environmental analysis and generate a service development plan." http://www.duluthnewstribune.com/news/traffic-and-construction/4536918-sec...

Re: Saint Paul - General Topics
Schafer Richardson, 99 units, 90-some parking spaces. Most of the first floor of the building is actually parking, just the front that is enclosed. Three front doors in the commercial space, but left flexible depending on tenant desires. Will include infrastructure in case someone wants to add a kit...

Re: Former West Publishing / County Jail development site
that ramp apparently provides HRA money, and this proposed new ramp would not.

I'm a bit skeptical about whether this would inspire parking lots to be developed.

Re: Gold Line BRT (Gateway Corridor)
Nobody riding end to end on this line would be inconvenienced by adding the "loop." Those people who don't want the loop will still be able to get on/off the bus near the Union Depot. Adding the loop simply adds an option for people starting or stopping further west. Additionally, from wha...

Re: Rush Line Corridor BRT
That being said, I'm not sure I wouldn't rather transfer to Green Line for DT MPLS and have the Rush go somewhere else in St. Paul. If it goes on 94 I imagine the bus would be faster than the Green Line, but it would be interesting to compare times from the Robert/14th stop to DT MPLS on both routes...

Re: Rush Line Corridor BRT
totally agree with this, tmart. Maybe Maplewood Mall should build a circulator system that goes around their property, including the Rush Line stop by the hospital... It could have door to door service to each of the mall anchors.

60-75 unit building proposed for 520 Payne Ave site (near E 7th), currently an empty lot. On Facebook neighbors appear to not like that it will involve low-income housing tax credits.
