Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Just saw an email that HCMC is opening a clinic and pharmacy in North Loop's TractorWorks building (800 Washington Ave N). Nice to see more services trickling to that side of the neighborhood. That's great. Any idea where in the building? There is at least one large empty street-level space on Wash...

Re: T3 - Hines Dock Street Office Project
Here are few progress pics of the T3 from this morning. It looks like the framing on the 3rd St side is done to the top level. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1656/25939658140_a8e851247b_b.jpg Construction progress at the T3 building. by Zeke , on Flickr https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1666/2621253224...

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Well, there are quite a few cyclists who ride on it now and it's horrible, so I'm guessing they won't mind the improvement. Here's the link to the project page. It's actually only the 2 blocks between Washington and 4th St that will be pavers. http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/cip/all/WCMS1P-130827 ed...

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Joe Grunnet from DRG was just saying on one of my Facebook posts that there are great plans for these buildings...but didn't expound on that, so I bet we will hear something soon. He must have seen them... Sounds like something good. Also we were talking about how the roads really need to be rebuil...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Brut is opening in the old Sapor space in the North Loop. Pretty big deal chefs, too. It'll be nice to have that space active again! http://www.startribune.com/brut-restaurant-opening-in-former-sapor-space-in-minneapolis/329161211/ The permits for the Brut build-out are starting appear on the city ...

Re: National Marrow Donor Program HQ - 524 5th Street North
The article mentions the restaurant adding bar service, and their application for a liquor license is going forward. One of the neighboring buildings had a notice posted for a public hearing on March 22. They'll add alcohol and be open on Sundays - they'll probably do well on Twins game days.

Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment
I agree with Silophant, it's hard to believe there's some big conspiracy at *city hall to keep buildings shorter. Doesn't it make a bit more sense, as he says, that because we're in an area without geographic constraints that it's easier and cheaper for companies to spread out instead of building up...

Aw - that makes me a little sad.The fancy house was gone this morning when I used 66th to get to work sans-freeway. Sure does open up the view to the park.

Re: Downtown East - Wells Fargo / Radisson Red / Edition Apt
Per the website for apartments in the Edition fronting the new Wells Fargo building - over $3,000 for a one bedroom. Seems pretty steep for me. I'm curious which building/unit this was. The only $3000+ ones I find are 2 bedrooms. But maybe they've already rented. There are a few pricey ones in the ...

Re: Minneapolis Armory
Being listed on the National Register of Historic Places does not mean something is protected from destruction. Maybe the city designation is meant as added protection for the building in the future. It's true that the rehab would seem to indicate the building is safe, but as we know a few decades ...

Re: Minneapolis Armory
Further, when the Armory was listed in 1985, a report would have been prepared describing the structure and its history. The city's study would not need to cost a lot because it will reference that previous study.

I got a quick tour of the Modist Brewing renovation. It's looking pretty nice, and they're hoping for a late February opening (but he said it might push into early March).

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Went to Zentral one last time last night. It was crazy-packed, busier than I'd ever seen it before. But of more interest, the chef came out and talked to every table, and mentioned that they're hoping to regroup and open something different in the same space. They're post on FB earlier this week sai...
