Re: Location of a 2nd International Airport?
How about a set of runways somewhere in southern Dakota/Rice/Goodhue counties, with an underground superfast maglev conveyor between that and the main terminal?

Re: Vikings Stadium
I just want to say that having a stadium named "Farmers Field" and a team named "Lakers" makes no sense in LA.

Coldwater Springs
Just took a quick walk around the recently-opened Coldwater Springs at Minnehaha Park. Its a bit brown and desolate until the prairie grass comes in next spring, but otherwise its a relaxing stroll. The kids had fun climbing/hopping the rocks along the stream that the springs fed, and I liked the po...

Re: West 7th and Hwy 5
I find the map confusing: switch your colors around, use green for 55 thru, orange for 5 thru, and color/label you'r ramps in pairs. And maybe use red lines to show which ramps/loops are being eliminated. As for the plan, unworkable. You have two spots with triple-decked roads! You've looped WB55 ar...

Re: 330 South 12th
Looking at these pictures of the 1985 construction and at Google Maps, I wonder if this building already has a "false middle"? Could the new, vaunted 1000 room hotel fit in the center, and the exterior building space be retrofitted for the normal office/conference/whatever space hotels usu...

Re: Fantasy Transit Maps and Ideas
I would just like to complete Southwest LRT, then have a Riverview LRT and an American Boulevard LRT connecting MOA and Southwest Station in Eden Prairie. Then you'd have three loops, the "Blue Triangle Loop" of Hiawatha, American, and Southwest, the "Red Triangle Loop" of Hiawat...

Re: Vikings Stadium
Does there yet exist a natural or artificial surface that can be used dual-purpose as athletic fields for youth/amateur sports (soccer, baseball, etc) and can hold up as a parking surface during the nasty fall/winter seasons? Maybe a block large gravel lot, remove the cars, and unroll the soccer tur...

Re: 35W Bus Rapid Transit Corridor
Anyone know if the 35W/Lake project would extend all the way south to 38th street? I remember rumors that if Lake was opened up, they would close the 35/36th exit and open the exit/entrance at 38th street.

Re: Hwy 100
Isn't this the section that Molneau implemented her "shoulder lanes" to increase capacity without putting real money into it? How has that held up, 10 years later?

Re: Introductions
Hello, I'm Dan. I grew up on a farm in the southern suburbs (Lakeville and then Jordan/New Prague), college in Northfield, lived a bit in Hopkins and am now in the Standish-Ericcson neighborhood of south Minneapolis, right next to the Hiawatha line (which I will never call "Blue" or "...

Thrive MSP
So, the Met Council has a new site for 2040 planning, called "Thrive MSP". Post a idea, comment on them, vote on them, etc. Looks very cluttered, and it just started. http://yourideas.metrocouncil.org/ Article about it is at http://www.minnpost.com/cityscape/2012/07/met-council-asks-public...
