Brick, lots of windows, building and door both pushed to the corner... this is about as good as a building of this type is going to get.

Yup, nice enough, and easy enough to tear down in the future ;D

As someone who lives a block away and walks by here all the time I really do not like that double wide curb cut at the drive through exit. If they can't fit enough room to merge the multiple drive through lanes back into a single lane wide exit curb cut they need to rethink their design. This will interface horribly with pedestrians.

Seriously when and where is the meeting I can go to and complain about this? There's already too many curb cuts around here and this is unacceptable for new development in this area.

So as a half block we're going from 2 curb cuts on 1st, to 1, and one on 4th, to two, and 1 on Hennepin to 0. So it's a net negative, or a wash if you want to argue that the double lane is two. I get what you mean... but I feel like it will be rare that two cars leave the drive through at exactly the same time. I'm happy that they aren't exiting onto Hennepin.

It was going to be 4 drive thru lanes originally with no door facing the street. The niebna changed that. But sometimes the bank gets the final say on some things. This was one of them.

But how many feet across is that curb cut in the plans? It's huge. It's two extra wide lanes, both apparently meant to turn left onto a one way. That isn't safe for pedestrians or drivers. It's like a dozen crashes a year waiting to happen.

Hennepin isn't the only street anyone walks on around there, especially if we're adding hundreds of new housing units and several commercial spaces across first ave from here. There will be way more pedestrian activity on this stretch of fourth and having a double turn lane thirty foot wide curb cut in the middle of it is a terrible idea.

Suggestion, offer constructive solutions and have a conversation.

2/3rds of the site is tower, 1/3rd bank

Constructive solution: make NIEBNA a pedestrian overlay district. It's already more walkable than some of the others and this designation prohibits new drive throughs.

nice try, how about one a little less idealistic and work for this project in the actual context of reality?

Currently the pedestrian overlay cuts right down the middle of the block between hennepin and first. If they're going to build all that new stuff at superior plating it needs to be extended to the railroad tracks which makes the drive through illegal at that point. Can we push someone to get that ball rolling before this is approved?

How is expanding the existing overlay district an additional block to cover upcoming development not realistic? They are literally splitting the parcel so the new bank is just barely outside the overlay border.

Isn't that their prerogative based on the law?

No wonder they want to move so quickly on the bank half. If they wait another year they won't be able to build this pile of trash.
