My vote would go to 4 first and 6 second, the others 5 and 9 are just too screwed up and a waste compared to the two leaders to me.

It seems like the rankings place a higher value on the existing development north of Norfolk (pushing the road further away from it) than any future development opportunities closer to the river (pushing the road closer to it). That's a mistake.

The re-decked east bound bridge lanes are open. Contractors were removing cones at 3:30 today

Yeah but now they're going to do the westbound lanes, right? So still two lanes?

Westbound construction starts in spring 2016. All four lanes are open.

Why are they redecking the bridge at all? Seems like it was done not too long ago, and looks to be in pretty good shape.

Are they're making less fracture critical? I thought it had the same basic design as the (thankfully) former Lafayette Bridge

The driving surface was repaved not all that long ago, but the bridge deck (which includes A LOT underneath the driving surface) hasn't been significantly worked on in 30 years. It was due.

I don't believe this redecking is making the bridge less fracture-critical, unless some of the critical components were within the bridge deck.
