But if we don't invent a theoretical crisis, what will have to talk about?

Does anybody know if they'll be changing the signage at TCF Bank Stadium to reflect the new tcf brand?

I'd think so. Otherwise isn't it kind of a half wasted sponsorship. Brand recognition.

Maybe it's just not big enough news to be a story?

Oh dear... Reminds me of when the PAX TV network changed their name to i. The most diminutive single letter you can get. After a while they realized it was nearly invisible and changed it to ion.

I drove pass the stadium this morning and it looked like there were construction workers on site starting to assemble the temporary bleachers for this season in the open end of the horse shoe.

Do they use those for Gophers games, or just the Vikings?

Is this some kind of shot at the Gophers?! Way to pile on...=^]

They are probably for the Vikings.

The temporary bleachers are also used at Gopher games.

No cheap shot at the Gophers -- Ski U Mah.

I know that the extra seats were part of the accommodations that the Vikings put in for their stay at TCF, because they have a larger season ticket base than the Gophers do. I just wasn't sure if those extra seats were part of the inventory available for Gopher games as well.

IIRC, the expansion plan for TCF (should the Gophers generate stronger ticket demand going forward) is to build out additional bleachers an top of the existing seating bowl, not to fill in the end of the horseshoe. The flat areas above the current seating were apparently designed to accommodate this.

You are correct, MNdible. The open end was intended to remain a plaza even if more seats were built, but it made more sense for 2 seasons to do the bleachers there. The seats are available for Gopher games, and in fact filled up for pretty much every game (while the upper seats in the bowl end actually stayed empty for the most part).
