It will be two floors above ground and two below, so will likely be the same height as the Jacobson building. They will be demolishing the Colonial building to make more room for this expansion. Just like the Jacobson building, it will be built with structural support for a future vertical expansion.Anyone know how tall this building would have to be? Small plot for 110,000 sf

I wonder why they keep making these buildings with structural support for future vertical expansion instead of actually doing the vertical expansion. Wouldn't this have been a good case for vertical expansion above Jacobson?

That's how hospitals work, and Mayo has extended that paradigm to their research/lab facilities too. And with the accelerated pace, it seems like they announce expansion even before construction starts on the original.
