Latitude 45 - 301 Washington Avenue South
Re: Latitude 45 - (301 Washington Avenue South)
I walk by this site everyday when I take a walk at lunchtime, and am glad to see this is going up so quickly. Not only does it look great in the last rendering, but it will hide the long ugly skyway as well. The skyway is a great place to watch all the below grade activity going on.
Born in Minneapolis.

Are they working on the weekends as well? I don't think I've ever seen the foundation hitting street level this fast!
Re: Latitude 45 - (301 Washington Avenue South)
Walk thru the skyway the other day to see how it was progressing. It will definitely be one level of underground parking. They have the supports to pour the floors above the parking half way across the site. Good to see supports up and above ground. This truly is moving at a very fast pace. Yes the skyway is great place to keep an eye on this project. At least until they get to about the 3-4th levels.

They really are cruising. I was working 10 days ago and took pictures from the roof of my building and they weren't even finished getting all of the dirt out.

Maybe it's buried somewhere in this thread, but has anyone seen the building plan for skyway level? I don't think it's going to be integrated 'into' the building, but I would be surprised if they leave the skyway as it is right now.

The skyway will remain as it is. The building will come with in feet of it. They will build a connection from the building to the skyway.Maybe it's buried somewhere in this thread, but has anyone seen the building plan for skyway level? I don't think it's going to be integrated 'into' the building, but I would be surprised if they leave the skyway as it is right now.

I love that the skyway was suppose to be temporary. Now it's like 25+ years later and they are builidng around it. I can understand from the developers perspective, but it stinks that it wasn't intergrated.

It's over the public ROW, why use valuable floor space for an amenity that's just outside the property lines?

Re: Latitude 45 - (301 Washington Avenue South)
It would be interesting to know if they approached the city about purchasing the ROW and incorporating it into the project. Long term, it seems like it would have been a better solution.

Yeah, I'm curious whether this should be chalked up to complications arising from the city or just laziness (or lack of forethought) from the developer. It would be interesting to know if they approached the city about purchasing the ROW and incorporating it into the project. They have most of the site up to grade now. Can't wait to see how this impacts this corner.

There's nothing about a grant in this thread so far, but the Strib notes that "Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development ... contributed a $472,000 grant to the project." Anyone know what that's about?

Nick, excellent angle from the ramp.
I wanted a shot looking down Washington so I could compare to how it looks when the building is finished. I love seeing these empty spaces come alive with people.
