Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
There is a new restaurant opening in the 5th floor space within The Guthrie. Looks like they are still working to fill the lower space previously occupied by Sea Change.
https://www.startribune.com/guthrie-the ... 600230973/The fifth-floor cafe space has become Ovation, a new French-leaning full-service restaurant that opened with "A Christmas Carol" in mid-November. It replaces buffet service.
The restaurant is open to the public, but hours are dependent on the Guthrie's schedule. On theater nights, dinner reservations run from 5 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
Ovation is just Act One for the Guthrie's dining options. The ground-level restaurant, formerly Sea Change, is expected to reopen with a different concept next year.

Vincent, the new french casual concept in the Mill District Canopy hotel has had some movement the last couple nights. Last night, tables were set and it seemed as though they were prepping for...something - maybe a preview meal for friends and family? Will be curious to see when this opens. Little has been done to the interior space so they must be maintaining some Bacon Social House finishes.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
I was to attend a preview night, and it's a really charming space with a good bit repurposed from the Bacon Social days. Vincent is such a good chef - and their pizza-like dish with onions and cream is amazing, as well as the famous Vincent burger, of course.

I'm surprised Hen House isn't on this list. And a few more I see are missing.Crowdsourced map of downtown lunch spots that are on the ground floor/not in the skyway https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewe ... 23887&z=16

If I remember the twitter thread correctly, he was focusing on quick-serve/counter-serve restaurants. Hen House is still full table service, right?

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Yeah. It was weird when that one closed. It always seemed busy even in the hight of the pandemic because you could sit in the park when indoor dining was closed.
I'm glad to have something here again . There are no coffee shops nearby open on Sundays.

Awesome. Thanks. My new favorite Starbucks.
Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
If quick service is the what the list is compiling. I'd say Valentino Cafe, Sal's on fifth and Sushi Train would fit the bill. Is this list updated on twitter? I'm always looking for new restaurants to try.If I remember the twitter thread correctly, he was focusing on quick-serve/counter-serve restaurants. Hen House is still full table service, right?

Looks like the old Alliance Francais at 113 N 1st St is getting a 3-level 'Taco Concept' restaurant tenant. Looks like a 'speakeasy', event space, and first floor main restaurant, patio and rooftop.
