Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Air Rights Development
Ok, first, I think it looks pretty great. As always, interested to see some more renderings from the street level whenever they provide more detailed documentation. Secondly, been meaning to ask this for a while. I know this isn't on the "stadium parking ramp" site the thread is talking a...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
Single track is not an option in the middle of the line when it's design headway is 5 minutes. A train would have to clear the section in 2.5 minutes in ideal conditions.

Once the Multimodal Center is completed hopefully by next year. Jefferson Lines and Indian Trail will operate out of it.

Re: Northstar
Actually, upon further investigation it appears that it's classified as Commuter Rail because it falls under FRA jurisdiction unlike most rail transit modes.Because it goes to Long Island

Re: Northstar
I'm not sure why that's classified as Commuter Rail as it has a third rail and vehicles just like heavy rail. Our region's LRT proposals look very similar to some east-coast commuter lines, such as LIRR's Port Washington Branch -- 13 stations on 15 miles of track, running EMU trains.

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
The line is being designed for a minimum headway of 5 minutes. At an average speed of 45 MPH (max speed of 55 plus accel/decel) it would take 2 minutes for a train to get through this stretch. So unless we were planning to have headways of 5 minutes or less, I'm not sure it would matter.

Re: Mall of America - Bloomington
I have to wonder was the bridge built strong enough to be able to carry the weight of the next phase of the mall expansion?
That's the plan.

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
For a relative analog of the Southwest Corridor I recommend looking at the Westside MAX project in Portland.

Re: Public Transit News and Happenings
For what it's worth, this morning I got to the Franklin Station at 7:45 to catch the 7:50 southbound train. A train didn't come until 8:04. Nineteen minutes of waiting. Two northbound trains went during this time period. I was on a Northbound train at about 7:10 and had to switch to a different tra...

Re: Twin Cities Underground Rail
You should ask Connie Kozlak why the airport was dense enough for underground rail. You should ask her how much denser SDSU or Midtown Buffalo is than Minneapolis. The tunnel was most likely built as the most efficient connect between the two terminals and nothing to do with density. In the future ...

Re: Transit Crime
Do you have a release on that? I have a friend who's son is afraid to go into their apartment garage since their building was hit, and maybe seeing it will help them feel better. There hasn't been a release that I know of. I live in one of the buildings and we received a letter from management conf...

Re: Transit Crime
The suspect was arrested while burglarizing the garage at Oaks Hiawatha Station behind the Walgreens on Hiawatha. Have not heard whether he was using the light rail or not, but his residence is on the west side of Hiawatha near Franklin Station.

Currently the goal is for a new restaurant called Locavore to open sometime around April in the space. They will specialize in local sourced ingredients.
