Re: MPS Comprehensive District Design
Where are those numbers? In the map posted above, the boundaries for Washburn are getting smaller (losing area to the South and East, and not gaining any extra area anywhere), so how would the population increase? Second link fehler posted, if you scroll down through the article. Oh yeah, those are...

Re: Nicollet Ave / Eat Street - Whittier, Stevens, Loring Park
I have a friend that has been really interested in this building for a while, for the exact use that is listed. Any advice on how they should show interest in purchasing?So... the city is going to acquire this land? And then what?
Also, first I've heard about the feud. Details?

- Keep council members who oppose the plan in the dark about the new draft plan as long as possible, and, and spring it on them just before the vote. - Keep the public in the dark as long as possible by embargoing communications with reporters until just before the plan is released. What does the h...

Re: Minneapolis 2040 Comprehensive Plan
I don't understand the distinctions here. A common complaint among those opposed to the plan was that no outreach was done. Which I would take as "Please do more outreach." Now the city, listening to that criticism, is hiring a firm to help with outreach. And that's bad? They spent untold...

If I wanted to maintain the view of a vacant lot next to my property I would purchase it. Also, who forms a flippin' non-profit to fight a development? Just for arguments sake... Couldn't you say the same of the developer? If they want to build a 4 story building on a residential district. They sho...

Plans from CoW: http://minneapolismn.gov/www/groups/public/@cped/documents/webcontent/wcmsp-213525.pdf Thanks for the link. Sort of a off topic question, but what is the best way to search the Minneapolis site for plans like this? Is there some sort of secret that I just don't know about? Thanks

Should the YMCA just buy this for parking? I hate to add more parking lots, but the Y parking is a disaster!

Or the added venue capacity could give them time to close down Roy Wilkins to redo the acoustics. I would hate to see St. Paul lose yet another draw. But St Paul did just get the Palace Theater for concerts that is doing quite well. Minneapolis/St Pauls concert venues options have really improved l...

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map
This is the "7 Minute Abs" argument. If we have money to do all that, how come we don't have money to do X, Y, and Z, too? I mean, if making a kickass transit system was our only object, then this'd all be a subway, and we'd have lines running N/S through Minneapolis, and so on. But my ma...

I was at the airport yesterday. I flew back from Orlando Florida on Delta Airlines. In my opinion, the baggage claim for terminal one is absolutely disgusting. Yesterday, for some reason, it smelled like rotten eggs. I also feel that the lighting is poor. The lighting in combination with the floor ...
