C'mon. It's not a beautiful thing but it's on the outskirts of downtown and will bring in a ton of new residents and tax base.
True - but why the bitchiness?

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects
Does anyone know if the city is working on replacing the pedestrian lights on the Hennepin Ave Bridge? Most are not working, are all busted up, or the light fixture has been removed completely.

Re: Northeast (and Southeast) - General Topics
Nice! Also notice how it mentioned getting lights on the Third Avenue Bridge?! Does this mean new street lights or lighting up the arches? My vote is for the second. I am thinking lighting for the arches, but I also hope they reinstall the decorative pedestrian lighting/original lighting along the ...

Re: Nicollet Mall Reconstruction Project
I agree - if the pavers are installed correctly- they can last. Look at the ones around the gateway markers near the Hennepin Avenue Bridge. While the pavers are probably the least exciting aspect of the redesign for me - what is really upsetting is cement sidewalks weren't what was promised/propose...

Re: Nicollet Mall Reconstruction Project
I totally agree with so many on here. The city really f'cked this up and if I were a property owner along Nicollet I'd be reall pissed off. The ideas and preliminary design were exciting - the crystal stairs, etc. The final design is something a local landscape archteciure firm, or sadly, even city w...

Re: Solhem Project - 721 1st St N
Can someone remind me how to contact the city to voice my concerns/opposition regarding this development - again - primarily against them not having to pay the park dedication fee unless the city requires them to come up with a better design for the green space they are proposing.

Re: Loring Park Neighborhood
I love Loring Park. But in order to remain competitve with the North Loop, Uptown, etc. building owners are going to have to invest major money into upgrading these older apartments - hopefully without loosing their historic charm.

Per the website for apartments in the Edition fronting the new Wells Fargo building - over $3,000 for a one bedroom. Seems pretty steep for me.

Drove along University Avenue and then around downtown St. Paul. Really exciting to see so much going up on the other side of the river too. Re: 721 1st St N
Of course love another large surface parking lot to bite the dust, but I don't like how the surface parking surrounds the "public park". Not keen on the park backing up against a solid, blank wall either and being surrounded by parking -- why not at least extending it to the sidewalk? Pret...
