Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT
An in house department for engineering sounds like a good idea on paper, but what are they gonna be doing when no major transit project is being planned and built. Yes we still have the BRT routes, but no LRT routes besides the blue line is in the realm of possibility right now. Unless they have a n...

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
Yes, only two lines, but ~52 miles once both extensions are complete, which (according to Wikipedia) is comparable to Denver's LRT system which has 8 lines. If we really wanted to, we could claim 4 lines once the extensions are open by running an EP to MOA service plus Brooklyn Center to St Paul se...

Re: Work from home and road congestion
I live on the 10th floor of a 20 story and if I need to leave I use the stairs. The two times I used the elevator was to carry groceries up and I just used a Kleenex or a plastic bag to push buttons and wash my hands after

Re: Des Moines
Just an update on The Fifth in Des Moines. Construction officially start on parking garage and finalizing permits for the theater/office portion. The tower part should be in the final stages of securing financing and permits. Also blackbird has switched sites to the Klad mall and plans to start demo...

Re: CP Ford Spur to Highland Park
I appreciate the response, but I still don't see how the cost-benefit equation ever balances out in favor of rail in the Ford Spur west of 7th, especially given the vastly greater likelihood of congestion once it interlines with the mixed-traffic Riverview portion. Your map is pretty, but it's also...

Re: CP Ford Spur to Highland Park
Now that’s what I call a transit plan! Look at all those light rails connecting every suburb to both cities.

Re: High Speed Rail MSP to Rochester
Wouldn’t it make sense to have the route start in town cities and end in Chicago. It would be popular like with stops in a few cities along the way

Re: High Speed Rail MSP to Rochester
That’s one way to do it, but I honestly think we should go modern and do a high speed rail between two major cities. Allow people to commute between the two cities faster.
