I was just out there today and it looks like some utility work has already began for this project.

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
16+ year bike commuter here. I have a lot of anxiety over cycle tracks. The truly dangerous part of urban cycling is at intersections. The faster a motorist is driving the more narrow their cone of vision and cycle tracks put cyclists at the periphery of the street. I've had several close calls at i...

901 27th Ave S approved by the CPC last week. A six-story mixed-use building with 155 units on the old Perkins site. "Dzieweczynski said the plan is to break ground in the second half of next year and open in late 2024." https://lims.minneapolismn.gov/download/Agenda/3637/RPT-PLAN12726-901...

According to this article the food hall at Malcolm Yards is due to open this spring: https://twincities.eater.com/2021/2/1/22260137/wrecktangle-pizza-viva-cubano-sooki-mimi-pajarito-lucky-13-minneapolis-st-paul?fbclid=IwAR1D4daAEI2-fYocnPVnGoOd58wWRPu30i0srl-ZizpxLtbL4OGqtz3Jga0 I believe the distil...

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News
Does anyone know how much one makes off of parking ramps? You would even that the ones like downtown that have long been paid for in terms of construction could lower prices, but I suppose it's a business and with properties taxes continually going up, etc....Sometimes I think the owners of with pa...

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News
The whole area would benefit if the parking ramp at 7 Points (fka Calhoun Square) would lower their parking prices. Same thing with the Mozaic ramp. They are priced higher ($12 max reached in 3 hours) than many downtown parking facilities' evening/weekend rates and they typically sit half empty even...

Re: L&H Station - Hennepin County - Minneapolis Public Schools site
That's correct. The building they are starting work on this week is all market rate with emphasis on micro-units to keep rents affordable. Phase 3 would be affordable senior housing, south of the plaza and near the LRT wall. Phase 4 would be mixed affordable and market rate units at the southwest po...

The licenses Minneapolis issued to scooter companies to operate last year run through March of 2020 technically. There haven't been any licenses issued yet for after that.

Has the retail space of this building (or the development a block down) been leased yet? It will be interesting to see what ends up in those locations.

Isn't this just the master planning document that covers all of the parks in that service area? I didn't think any of these projects had funding or a timeline for implementation.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
Does anyone know of a good resource that would have before and after aerial photos of downtown that would highlight how much surface parking has been developed in the past decade or so? Specifically looking for the "East Town" area.

Good riddance to surface lot parking. This would be great if it came to fruition, good luck recreating the MGM magic though!

Re: Federal Reserve Riverfront Parking Ramp
Couldn't there be some sort of compromise here? Like wrapping the ramp with apartments and including substantial ground floor retail? Or is this too valuable a piece of property to waste on parking at all? Honestly just curious on people's thoughts. If this project was wrapped in housing and/or had...

Here's good article on the upcoming (September) RFP release for development of the Garfield Lot at Lyn-Lake,
https://www.southwestjournal.com/news/2 ... rking-lot/
Hopefully the public gathering space mentioned in the article comes to fruition.

Saw that right after clicking submit (doh!)
I agree with the sentiment above - how is there not a retail component, even a small one that's part of this? And something should really be done to reconnect Main with Broadway there. That cut off is awkward and not good for traffic flow.

Is there a thread going for the 300 unit development(s) at Main and Broadway mentioned in this article?
http://www.startribune.com/surge-of-new ... 512688352/
This was the first I've heard of them. That's a lot of units for this area.
