Re: Cedar Avenue BRT (Red Line)
Thanks man. So just to me clear, this line will be similar to the lines Metro Transit is considering for the major bus routes in the cities. It's an ungraded local route as opposed to a run of the mill local route? It's slightly different. The Red Line will have fewer stops than the Arterial BRT be...

Re: Cedar Avenue BRT (Red Line)
They wrote a new service implementation plan last year eliminating the Palomino stop.
I wouldn't trust wikipedia on these matters. I quit editing it several years back because some guy kept making up fake bus routes and I was like WTF, I don't have time for this crap.

Re: Cedar Avenue BRT (Red Line)
The main market for the park and ride service is downtown commuters. They would leave in droves if they were forced to take a 25 min bus ride, 5 min transfer, and 35 min rail ride to the city. It looks to me that existing express bus service levels will be preserved. Current service on the 442 (basi...

Red Line (Cedar Avenue BRT)
Construction is well underway on Cedar from 138 St to 153 St. It's basically finished from 153 St to 179 St. Everything on the transit side is taking a while, Met Council recently was figuring out who is supposed to do what. Expansion of the Apple Valley Transit Station should be complete in July. A...

Re: Radisson Blu
All of the orange areas looked like insolation when I went past yesterday. It looks like they will be covered, according to the rendering, partially with orange pre-cast sections.

Northstar Commuter Rail
Looks like the new station at Ramsey might open sooner than expected: Early work on the new Ramsey station for the Northstar commuter rail line is ahead of schedule, raising hopes that it can be in service by the end of October. Ground was broken in March for the $13 million station, which transit o...

Re: Bottineau LRT
This presentation shows that the Maple Grove route will attract 600 more riders per day, have nearly 900 more daily hours of benefit, cost $40 million less, and recieve a better CEI rating than the Brooklyn Park route. The Brooklyn Park route does have two distinct advantages: - The location of a s...

Re: Mall of America
The City of Bloomington is in the process of approving sign code changes for the Mall, allowing new (and more) advertisements at the former Bloomingdales site and across the entire mall. The Bloomingdales space will be divided into 10 stores, including the Forever 21 in the basement level. Here are ...

Re: Central Corridor LRT

Re: 2700 University Ave
Too bad they aren't going for the mixed-use office/retail/residential building anymore. Would be a nice addition, as well.
Maybe some redevelopment for the Westgate Office Park???

Re: Southwest LRT
Last I heard, the project didn't get the $25 million bond from the state. If the state can't show support for the line, it looks to the FTA that the local support is not in place, jeopardizing the federal funds. I heard something about another round of grants or bonds are something, and the Met Coun...

Re: Bottineau LRT
I thought the documents showed that the Maple Grove branch would be both cheaper and attract more riders, but the justification for Brooklyn Park was that there "was more developable land" and that gravel mining in Maple Grove could go on for a long time. I like Maple Grove for the access ...
