And a car going eastbound on the westbound side of Washington.

They're just making sure their renderings reflect reality. Why does that show a car and an RV on Nicollet Mall?

I think they’ve replaced the streetcar with an RV that drives around....

If you read the Strib comments section, any public transit might as well be a RV.I think they’ve replaced the streetcar with an RV that drives around....

They removed the construction trailer yesterday. Not sure if that has any significance.

The lot on this site is going to be used to stage some vehicles and equipment related to the Final Four over the next week and a half or so.

I mentioned this in the "Eleven" building thready, but I was snooping around on the MPCA "what's in my neighborhood?" interactive map and I see that this project received a recent construction wastewater permit. I think that would be a necessary step prior to beginning construction, which could mean groundbreaking is imminent. If this project, Alia, and Eleven all break ground this spring that would be incredible.

Luckily the MPCA site for what’s in the neighborhood has text search, because the map search requires… Adobe Flash.

McGough construction issued building permit on 4/12 for "Soil disturbance associated w/new construction (BLDG758975) and affiliated w/PDR (PLAN7046)" at this site. http://apps.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/PIApp/ ... 2924410107
Have to conclude this is happening soon.

Fingers crossed.
Re: Gateway Tower (RBC/Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 503'
As of last summer, they were saying they had to start in May 2019 to be ready for RBC to move in in 2021 - hence the office-only backup plan they pitched.
I keep waiting to see the signs posted that the parking lot will be closing, but nothing yet. I guess if they don't sell monthly contracts they don't need to give as much notice as parking facilities that do.

I thought it was interesting that they put up new signs with parking information. When this and Eleven are being constructed it'll be great is someone could get a photo from across the river or somewhere of both building going up.

RBC's current space is already being advertised with a move in date of Dec 1, 2021 ... things are happening.
Re: Gateway Tower (RBC/Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 503'
Be great to grab a new employer from the 'burbs or out of state for that space.
Re: Gateway Tower (RBC/Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 503'
Update: There's a sign on the paybooth in the parking lot that says it closes permanently on May 7th.
It's happening!

It'll be so nice to have another surface lot gone
Re: Gateway Tower (RBC/Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 503'
Totally agree! Especially one that is located in such a prominent area. It will be even better once the block directly to the west of the project is developed.

One thing that always strikes me when I stand at Hennepin & Washington is how far away the downtown skyline "feels" from that spot.
Streetview does a good job of capturing what I mean: https://www.google.com/maps/@44.9822777 ... 312!8i6656
Even with 365 Nicollet topped off in that image, something about the way the various buildings interplay and obscure each other (especially the library blocking the lower 1/3rd of most of this view) makes the skyline appear further away than it is. A 500' tall building at this intersection is going to be pretty transformative in that regard.
