This seems to be a great project. Looking forward to the unboarding of another builing along the W. Broadway corridor!

The house south of the library building was demolished late last week. I hear the house was in tough shape and the lot is obviously needed for the expansion, but it is still sad to see a 100-year-old house come down so quickly and unceremoniously. It looked quite salvageable from the exterior.

It was entirely salvageable. They are building a parking lot there.

The rendering on the placard outside shows a one story addition to the library. Maybe some parking too, I suppose, but it seems there will be a new structure.

The architect for the project is more than qualified. I hope to see every one of those original windows stay intact.

That house was the only single family house on that block face -- in a perfect world, it could have been moved, but given the realities in North, I'm not sure how viable that would have been. I think it's much more important to focus on endangered houses on intact residential block faces, and there are plenty of examples of those in North.
Meanwhile, what's the spaceship that landed across the street from this?
