Won't someone consider all the rats being displaced...
Re: 700 Central Avenue Northeast Apartments
I'm sure they'll find a happy new home at red 20, where the incompetent management will probably throw them a kegger in the courtyard and annoy half the residents.Won't someone consider all the rats being displaced...

New windows on the retail bays facing Central. I took a picture but am stymied by having to upload it externally to post here. Maybe next time.

I bet Red20 management is pissed that the guy who complains about everything moved out.I'm sure they'll find a happy new home at red 20, where the incompetent management will probably throw them a kegger in the courtyard and annoy half the residents.Won't someone consider all the rats being displaced...
Re: 700 Central Avenue Northeast Apartments
I'm sure people paying 2-3 grand a month for rent on their two and three bedroom apartments love listening to college students throwing parties well into the night. Nope, I'm the only one that has a problem with that kind of behavior. Everyone loves listen to someone clomp around in high heels 3-4 hours a day above them too, I'm sure. Or being told to call a caretaker that doesn't exist and/or doesn't answer their phone. Or waiting 3-4 business days for a reply to an email when you see the people in the office every day sitting there looking bored. Or having them shorten and cancel their already abnormally short office hours without notice when you have packages you would like to pick up. Or any number of other things that are totally unacceptable for a building in that price range.

Pile driving in the lot behind the building this morning.
Re: 700 Central Avenue Northeast Apartments
The one to the east? I thought someone had said they weren't adding the additional apartments in the vacant lot in the end?

Yeah, I'm not sure what's happening, but that's what I saw.The one to the east? I thought someone had said they weren't adding the additional apartments in the vacant lot in the end?
Re: 700 Central Avenue Northeast Apartments
Aren't they building some structured parking behind the existing buildings?
Re: 700 Central Avenue Northeast Apartments
They are building a parking structure that will be built on at a later date. But they will need parking at the start so that is why ist is being built now.

Re: 700 Central Avenue Northeast Apartments
Based off of this post I'm assuming?Weird tho that Hoyt properties bothered to commission a rendering of just the refurbished 700-708 Central buildings alone, not including the proposed penthouse additions or the new stick-frame building that would be added to the parking lot behind it. But it's been just 8 months since approval, so I don't think there's cause to ring the "cancellation" alarm quite yet. Here is the Leasing page for the retail/restaurant portion: http://www.hoytproperties.com/index.php ... velopment/
I also found on the city website that in back in December the city council approved their request for a transit oriented development grant submission to the county: http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/www/gro ... 135021.pdf
Good to see that there's at least a little movement on this!
Compare that to plans from when the whole project was approved in April 2014: http://minneapolismn.gov/www/groups/pub ... 122686.pdf

You can see the stubbed support columns in the parking area.
