Seven Points Uptown (Calhoun Square)
Re: 1301 West Lake Street - Uptown
I am a huge fan of step back development. Maybe we could develop something but keep the portion directly facing Lake At 2 stories. Towards the back of the lot, near the parking garage, in the building could step up to five or six stories. They could use the step back portion as amenity space for apartments. Not exactly sure on the financials, but just dreaming.

Re: 1301 West Lake Street - Uptown
Looking at the parking garage near the south west portion of the property, if looking north. I think you could almost argue for 7 to 8 stories. On the southern portion of the lot. I wouldn't recommend putting any balconies facing the parking ramp though. Would definitely be an unpleasant site to stare at.

Let's start dreaming. Those of you who are good at making 3-D models, let's see what you can come up with for this site? What kind of building would look good here?

Re: Calhoun Square
Okay so this is my first time using some 3D modeling software so go easy on me.
Re: Calhoun Square
Not bad. I would hope that they dont go with that type of building, but i like that you gave it a shot. Do you think that type of building would be resedental or comercial, or a mix of the two?

Re: Calhoun Square
For Sale...
Uptown’s Calhoun Square retail center is for sale
*LOCKED*
Gist:
Calhoun Square is being offered for sale, five years after the current owners purchased the property with ambitious plans to renovate the Uptown Minneapolis retail center.
Ackerberg had planned to renovate and reconfigure the 172,000-square-foot building, creating a prime leasable space on the corner of Hennepin Avenue and Lake Street. There were also talks of building a high-end apartment tower on a 1-acre vacant site just east of the shopping center.
Article states they likely won't get the $69.5M that they paid for it in 2014.
I wonder why they're jumping ship?!

Re: Calhoun Square
For those with full access to the article... are they selling the whole thing including the vacant lot? Or just selling the mall and keeping the vacant lot for themselves?

Re: Calhoun Square
Oh hi. Nothing confirmed, but that's the only reason I can think of to dump the property without development.

Re: Calhoun Square
Anyone know why they're tearing up the vacant lot in front of the parking ramp? Saw it while I was going by there this morning.
